Finance Assistant

A leading manufacturingpany based in Hartlepool is looking for a temporary finance assistant to join a busy accounting team. You will be reporting to the Financial Controller and will be working with a friendly and weing team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Provide finance support for timely weekly / monthly reporting.
2. Process invoices reconcile delivery notes to invoices received and purchase orders, in line with best practice processes.
3. Ensure all purchases are fully and accurately recorded within thepany's accounting system, including the proper allocation of supplier codes, nominal codes, and cost centres.
4. Process customer refunds accurately and efficiently, adhering topany policies and procedures. This includes verifying refund eligibility, generating refund documentation, and updating customer accounts within the accounting system.
5. Provide regular reports to managers of departments.
6. Maintain financial systems and make updates when necessary.
7. Carry out monthly accounting procedures related to month-end.
8. Generation of key reports.
9. Involvement in the production of the monthly preparation of financial data for inclusion in the Management Accounts.
10. Involvement in the production of the annual statutory accounts.
11. Monthly reconciliation of supplier statements andpany credit card(s)
12. Dealing with expenses & data administration.
13. Deal with (and resolve) general invoice queries via phone and email.
14. Work on ad hoc projects as directed by the Financial Controller.
What you'll need to succeed
Essentials:
15. Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Finance role.
16. An aptitude for IT – knowledge of software packages like Excel and SAGE.
17. GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics are a minimum requirement.
