Interim Sanctions Compliance Lead
Contract Type: FTC, or Interim Inside IR35
Duration: 6-12 months
Location: Oxfordshire
Working Pattern: 2-3 Days per week on-site
A large, complex UK institution is seeking an experienced Interim Sanctions Compliance Lead to enhance sanctions risk management and support assurance activity during a period of increased regulatory scrutiny.
The individual will liaise with key stakeholders across the organisation to assess the sanctions and compliance initiatives available across a currently fragmented resource, and map the gaps and risks to the function. They will be responsible for developing a roadmap by which the institution can address key actions to create a strong, centralised resource.
Role Focus
* Develop a sanctions risk map to identify and prioritise high‑risk areas.
* Lead casework, fact‑finding, and investigations into potential sanctions issues.
* Design and deliver sanctions awareness and compliance initiatives.
* Influence and engage senior stakeholders across a decentralised environment.
* Shape long‑term arrangements, including defining a permanent role and future roadmap.
Ideal Profile
* Strong, hands‑on sanctions expertise (e.g., OFSI and wider global regimes).
* Experience operating in complex, multi‑stakeholder organisations.
* Pragmatic, credible communicator with strong judgement.
* Comfortable handling sensitive compliance and investigations work.
