Our client is a leading engineering and manufacturing company that provide both mechanical and electronic components for a variety of industries.
Due to the increased demand in the manufacturing department they are looking for a Production Engineer.
The Role
Supporting the business, sales & production processes:
Preparation for production
·Working with the Development, Quality & Production Teams to transition products from a development stage to a full production stage
·Creation and maintenance of tools, procedures and processes to support products in production
Production Support
·Working with the production and test teams to support & resolve issues that may arise during manufacture
·Seek opportunities for continuous improvement in the production processes and implement them
Purchasing
·Processing of purchase orders and procurement of raw materials associated with the manufacture of our electronic products and development projects according to production schedules
·Negotiating and maintaining assigned supplier relations, ensuring procurement of materials and services to agreed lead times by the most economic, timely and efficient manner
·Maintaining part numbers, bill of materials and associated information (prices, lead times, etc) within our MRP System
·Providing engineers with details of alternative components should the lead time or availability of components not fulfil production requirements
Working with the sales team
·Assisting in the preparation of bids and quotes.
·Assistance in document writing and preparation for bid submission
Skills & Experience Requirements
·Experience within Electronics Engineering
·Purchasing of electronic components & an understanding of MRP procurement system.
·Must have high level of computer skills including MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.
·The ability to carry out the role in a commercial and financially-driven way.
·Ability to effectively manage the workload & prioritise accordingly.
·Ability to work under pressure.
