The Role
As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you'll play a key role in supporting the project commercial lead on all cost, contract, and procurement aspects of large-scale construction projects. You will work closely with Senior Quantity Surveyors and Project Managers to ensure financial and contractual control throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in managing all commercial and contractual aspects of projects under NEC forms of contract
* Support in the preparation and agreement of interim valuations, variations, and final accounts
* Assist with subcontractor procurement, payments, and administration
* Help maintain accurate cost forecasting and reporting
* Contribute to risk and value management exercises
* Support the commercial team in preparing client and internal reports
* Work collaboratively with project teams to ensure efficient cost control and compliance
About You
* Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
* Ideally 1-3 years' experience with a main contractor or reputable subcontractor
* Familiarity with NEC contracts is desirable
* Experience in industrial, data centre, or high-tech manufacturing projects advantageous
* Strong analytical, numerical, and communication skills
* Ambitious, proactive, and eager to develop within a structured commercial team
