Learning Support Assistant * 39 weeks per year (term time including 5 Inset days), 32.5 hours per week (08:15-15:15 = 6.5 hours per day, Monday-Friday). This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Learning Support Assistant or someone new to the role who has relevant experience of working with young people. We are seeking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to support the SEND department who has energy, drive and a passion for working with young people in an all-girls environment. Key responsibilities for the role include: * To establish supportive relationships with SEN students, either on a 1:1 basis or in small groups outside the classroom or within lessons * To run small group sessions to support students to overcome barriers to learning e.g. social skills, study skills, stress and anxiety management etc. * To give positive encouragement, feedback and praise to reinforce and sustain the student’s efforts and develop self-reliance and self-esteem * To provide regular feedback on the student’s learning and behaviour to relevant members of staff, including feedback on the effectiveness of the strategies adopted.
