Job description
Prospero Teaching is working closely with a welcoming primary school based in Waterlooville, who are looking to appoint a Level 1 or 2 Learning Support Assistant to join their team. This is a class-based role in Lower Key Stage 2 (Years 3 and 4).

As a Learning Support Assistant, you’ll work closely with the class teacher to support pupils throughout the school day-helping them feel confident, safe, and ready to learn.
What You’ll Do Each Day
1. Provide one-to-one support to help pupils with learning and social skills
2. Encourage positive behaviour and help children build friendships
3. Support emotional wellbeing and help remove barriers to learning
4. Work flexibly across different classes and follow a daily timetable
5. Use initiative to ensure all learners achieve the best outcomes
Who We’re Looking For
6. Someone patient, caring, and a strong team player
7. GCSEs or equivalent in English and Maths (grade C or level 4)
8. Experience is helpful but not essential-training and support will be provided
9. Calm and positive approach to supporting children with a range of needs
10. Empathetic understanding of behaviour and emotional development
11. Willingness to undergo training, including support for children with medical needs
12. Strong understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality
Important Details
13. Working Hours: 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday
14. Term-Time Only: 39 weeks per year
15. Starting Pay: £ per hour
16. Location: Prospero’s client primary school based in Waterlooville
17. Contract Type: Ongoing position (not fixed term)
