An exciting opportunity has arisen for a High Intensity DIT therapist (trained outside NHS TTs) to join the NHS Talking Therapies delivered by Talking Therapies Southwark (TTS). We are seeking an enthusiastic DIT therapist who is passionate about developing their skills in order to help improve the lives of others. Successful applicants can expect to join a highly valued and motivated TTS workforce committed to delivering a person‑centred and effective psychological assessment and treatment service to the local population.
Main duties of the job
You will offer assessment and one‑to‑one high‑intensity DIT interventions via telephone, video, or face‑to‑face appointments. As part of your role you will receive weekly supervision and opportunities to provide consultation to other colleagues in the team. Our Trust is one of the few in London that offers flexible working, which will be discussed at the interview stage.
About us
Talking Therapies Southwark has provided adult NHS Talking Therapies for Southwark since 2008 and currently employs over 100 full‑time equivalents. Two locality‑based teams deliver assessment and treatment of patients referred by or registered with GP practices in their part of the borough. The south team is based at the Maudsley Hospital in Camberwell and the north team at the Munro Centre near London Bridge. Within each team, CBT therapists, psychologists, psychotherapists, counsellors, psychological wellbeing practitioners and career coaches work together to offer assessment, psycho‑educational workshops, groups, and individual treatment covering all NHS Talking Therapies‑recommended modalities. The South London & Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust is the lead provider for the Talking Therapies Southwark partnership.
Person Specification
Experience
* Experience treating common mental health problems in adults using DIT
* Experience collecting and recording patient‑reported outcome measures to monitor progress
* Experience carrying out psychological assessment, including risk assessment
* Experience working with one or more specific patient groups relevant to NHS Talking Therapies (e.g., older adults, people with long‑term physical health conditions)
* Experience teaching or liaising with other professional groups
Knowledge & Skills
* Detailed knowledge of DIT as applied to common mental health problems in adults
* Sound understanding of clinical governance
* Familiarity with the NHS Talking Therapies stepped care framework for treating depression and anxiety disorders
* High standards of communication skills, including written communication
* Self‑reflective practice in working with patients, personal and professional development, and supervision
* Ability to offer therapy in a language other than English
Qualifications
* Fully qualified in Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy (DIT); training did not take place while working in NHS Talking Therapies
* Current accreditation in professional bodies (e.g., BPC)

Location and Salary
Maudsley Hospital in Camberwell or Munro Centre at Guy's Hospital (both within Southwark). Salary: £58,133 to £65,261 per annum inclusive of HCAS (Inner).
