Management Accountant – 12 Month Fixed Term Contract
Salary: £35,000 plus company benefits
We are offering a fantastic salary of £35,000 plus company benefits for a 12‑month fixed term contract within our central finance function here at Vertu Motors.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Management Accountant or Assistant Accountant looking to take the next step up, ideally with experience in a central or head office finance environment or with motor retail experience. A working knowledge of Kerridge or similar accounting systems is desirable but not essential. You must be able to communicate effectively with all financial and non‑financial colleagues to support informed business decision‑making.
You will possess excellent numerical, organisational, and communication skills and demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
You will work alongside the Accountant in producing management accounts, forecasts and analytical data to support the management team and wider business. We are committed to coaching and developing our colleagues and, as such, a key element of the role will include supporting and developing members of the finance team.
Accounting responsibilities include:
* Production of monthly management accounts, including analysis and reconciliations
* Preparation of forecasts and estimates
* Month‑end balance sheet reconciliations, including accruals and prepayments
* Preparation and presentation of financial budgets
* Cash flow monitoring and bank account management
* Expense analysis, identifying trends and variances
* Review and management of the purchase ledger function
* Approval of intercompany recharges and intercompany payments, ensuring compliance with group policies
