Youth Worker Team Leader

Role Information:

Location: Filton Campus

FTE Salary: Up to £26,970.00 (Salary is dependent on qualifications and experience)

Actual Salary: Up to £22,804.74

Contract Type: Permanent, Full time, Term Time Only

Working Hours: 37 hours per week, 38 weeks per year

This is a rewarding opportunity to shape a team, influence culture, and make a lasting impact on learners who may be navigating emotional, social, or behavioural challenges.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

18. Leading with clarity and care: You’ll supervise and support a team of youth workers, ensuring consistent, high-quality early help interventions across campus.
19. Creating safe, welcoming spaces: You’ll be a visible, reassuring presence, helping learners feel safe and connected throughout their college day.
20. Building trust and engagement: You’ll develop respectful, professional relationships with learners, using restorative and relational approaches to support personal growth.
21. Driving inclusion and access: You’ll help learners—especially those considered high-risk or hard to reach—access support and engage in activities that foster belonging, resilience, and wellbeing.
22. Collaborating across teams: You’ll work closely with curriculum leaders, enrichment staff, and external partners to co-deliver workshops, group programmes, and learner-led initiatives.

Beneficial Skills & Qualifications

23. A trauma-informed, person-centred approach to youth work.
24. Experience leading teams or projects with confidence and compassion.
25. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
26. Experience in youth, social care, residential, or education settings.
27. Skills in restorative practice, motivational interviewing, or solution-focused approaches.
28. A commitment to safeguarding, equity, and learner voice.
