Job Summary
Clinical support worker, Band 3, 36 hours available. Role in AMU at Cumberland Infirmary. Impact across cardiology, respiratory, gastro, elderly care, haematology, renal.
Key responsibilities
* Support registered nursing team delivering fundamentals of care to patients.
* Undertake Care Certificate training to enhance knowledge of care provision.
* Work days, nights and weekends as required.
* Record and record clinical observations and escalating changes or findings.
* Maintain accurate documentation in line with NHS policies and legislation.
Essential criteria
* Level 3 vocational qualification or short courses with competency workbook equivalent to level 3 in patient and clinical care duties.
* National care certificate or commitment to complete within 12 weeks of commencing employment.
* Knowledge of data protection legislation, health and safety and safeguarding.
* Willingness and ability to undertake Care Certificate training.
* Experience in health and social care, including clinical observations.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills, time‑keeping, planning, basic IT skills.
Desirable skills
* Additional training for clinical support workers care within one year of start date.
* Computer skills, familiarity with current NHS and social care policies, venepuncture.
* Experience working in NCIC previously.

* Band 3
* Salary £24,937 to £26,598 a year pro rata.
* Permanent, full‑time or part‑time.
* Working pattern full‑time, part‑time.
* Location Cumberland Infirmary, Newtown Road, Carlisle, CA2 7HY.
