Overview
The Skye, Lochalsh and Wester Ross Integrated Health & Social Care Team has a vacancy for a part‑time Social Worker to be based in Ullapool in Wester Ross. The team works closely with nursing and mental health teams to provide a multidisciplinary and integrated service in a beautiful, but remote and rural setting. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified social worker to work in a community care context with adults.
Responsibilities
* Working with older adults, adults with learning disabilities, autism and those in transition from children’s services.
* Supporting vulnerable adults and their families and carers.
* Working with clients using a person‑centred approach.
* Working within relevant legislation, including the Adult Support and Protection, Adults with Incapacity and Mental Health Acts.
* Collaborating with other NHS professionals to provide a multidisciplinary framework to interventions.
* Assessment and report writing.
* Arranging, with the client’s consent, care packages to meet assessed need.
* Working as part of a multi‑disciplinary service which supports adults living within a large remote and rural geographical area and addressing the potential challenges this can present.
Qualifications
* Registered with the Scottish Social Services Council on the ‘Social worker’ part of the register, or eligible to be so registered.
* Holder of a qualification recognised by the SSSC as equivalent to the Diploma in Social Work (DipSW), or about to qualify with such an award.
* Part‑time availability and willingness to work flexible hours.
* Essential: holding a valid driving licence and owning a vehicle for work purposes.
Additional Information for Candidates
* Effective from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will be reduced from 37 to 36 hours. Part‑time hours will be adjusted pro‑rata. There will be an increase in the hourly rate to ensure pay remains unaffected.
