Job Description:

Applications are invited for this Specialty Grade post in General Adult Psychiatry. This post is a 0.5wte post at Arndale CMHT.
The successful candidate will provide medical input to adult secondary care mental health services for the population of Drumchapel, Bearsden, and surrounding areas in conjunction with the Community Mental Health Team.
Arndale Resource Centre, Drumchapel covers a population of approximately 60,232. The team comprises Community Psychiatric Nursing, Health Care Assistants, Occupational Therapy, Clinical Psychology, and admin staff with input from Social work and MHOs. The service provides for patients over 18 with severe and/or enduring mental disorder. The aims of the team are to provide a range of services to meet the individual needs of the patient group. There is also a Crisis Team and PCMHT in North West Glasgow as well as the Mental Health Assessment Units across NHS GG&C.
It is expected that the successful applicant would provide medical input to the CMHT, working closely with the crisis team, social work, and voluntary organizations to provide a comprehensive service. They would attend domiciliary visits and where Section 22 approved, carry out Mental Health Act / Adults Incapacity and legal work for the patients on their caseload. They will be expected to work closely with consultant colleagues within the area, general practitioners, third sector, and other teams.
SPECIALTY DOCTOR must meet the following Criteria:
* shall have full registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council (GMC); and
* shall have completed at least four years’ full-time postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a less than full-time or flexible basis) at least two of which will be in a specialty training programme or specialty registrar locum appointment for training (LAT); or
* shall have equivalent training, experience or competencies, either in the UK or overseas.
