Rivermead School – Across All Provisions (Including Post-16 and Triple R)
This is not just a teaching post. At Rivermead School, teaching is about moments: The moment a learner realises they can. The moment curiosity replaces anxiety. The moment learning finally makes sense.
We are looking for a passionate teacher of Maths who believes education should adapt to the learner, not the other way around.
Who We Are
Rivermead School is a specialist setting supporting learners with a wide range of special educational needs. We deliver a creative curriculum designed to build confidence, communication, independence, and curiosity.
This role is unique as it spans across our diverse provisions, including:
1. Post-16 Provision: Preparing our older learners for their next steps with functional and academic mathematical skills.
2. Triple R Provision: A specialised setting for learners with and without an EHCP who have complex mental health needs, where building trust and stability is as vital as the curriculum itself.
What You’ll Be Doing (In Real Terms)
3. Bringing Maths to life through creative, adapted, and meaningful lessons across Post-16 and Triple R.
4. Working alongside skilled support staff who truly know their learners.
5. Adapting teaching strategies to meet complex mental health needs, individual strengths, and interests.
6. Celebrating progress that doesn’t always show up in data but always matters.
7. Being part of a reflective, supportive team that shares ideas, challenges, and successes.
This Role Might Be for You If…
8. You love teaching Maths and have the expertise to deliver it to learners with complex needs.
9. You are a qualified teacher (QTS) with experience in KS3/KS4 or post-16 (primary experience is also welcome).
10. You value relationships as much as results and understand the nuances of supporting mental health in an educational setting.
11. You are reflective, resilient, and committed to inclusive education.
12. You want to teach somewhere your creativity is encouraged, not restricted.
Why Teachers Choose Rivermead
13. You matter here — staff wellbeing and support are priorities, not add-ons.
14. A strong coaching and mentoring culture to support your professional growth.
15. Opportunities to develop specialist SEN and mental health expertise.
16. The opportunity to change lives, every single day.
