Job Overview
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, this role involves ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the SMD line(s), meeting production needs, quality standards, and targets. The role may also support the R&D department, subject to agreement with the Operations Manager.
Responsibilities
1. Operate Surface Mount Technology advanced placement machines, change feeders, identify components, troubleshoot, and resolve issues.
2. Identify electronic components, including values and polarity, using microscopes.
3. Program, debug, set up, operate, and maintain equipment such as Pick & Place machines, reflow ovens, screen printers, and solder paste inspection tools.
4. Run and monitor AOI machines, produce first-off samples, and manage line performance data.
5. Maintain machinery, train staff, and assist with R&D prototypes and documentation.
6. Support quality control and quarantine procedures.
7. Adhere to health, safety, quality, and environmental guidelines.
Qualifications
Desirable:
* HNC/HND or degree in Electronics, Electrical, or related fields.
* IPC qualification.
Acceptable:
* Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
* IPC understanding and awareness.
Core Skills and Experience
* Experience with JUKI and/or Europlacer SMD machines.
* Analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Attention to detail, organization, soldering and rework skills.
* Strong communication in English.
* Ability to work independently and basic computer skills (Google suite).
