Due to increasing demand for Phlebotomy services within MYTT we are seeking to recruit phlebotomists. We have 2 have part time 30 hours positions available.
The roles are cross site with base sites being at either Pinderfields or Dewsbury. The posts will require some weekend and bank holiday working.
We provide a phlebotomy service to hospital wards, outpatients, housebound patients, community clinics and the new Clinical Diagnostic Centre in Wakefield.
Phlebotomy experience is not essential as full training will be provided to candidates with the right qualities to join our team.
Main duties of the job
* The post holder will carry out routine phlebotomy (blood collection) duties as set out in standard operating procedures. These duties will take place within the blood collecting room, on wards and at selected clinics and surgeries or in the community.
* The post holders will also carry out 'near-patient testing'
* The post holders will maintain a clean, tidy working environment, following health and safety procedures and Trust policies to minimise risks to both themselves and the patient.
* The post holders must be polite, caring and understanding when dealing with patients and staff members.

Job responsibilities
* Candidates should be able to demonstrate a good level of secondary education, preferably with Level II qualifications in Maths, English and Science. While experience in phlebotomy is desirable, training can be given.
* Experience of dealing with members of the public, especially in a healthcare setting, is also important for this role.
* Candidates should have good communication skills which they are able to adapt according to who they are communicating with. They should be able to demonstrate a calm and confident approach at all times.
* Candidates should be able to work alone or as part of a team.
* A full clean UK driving licence is required.
