Overview
Applications are invited to a Locum Consultant position in Obstetrics and Gynaecology to join our friendly and supportive team at James Paget University Hospital. The post is initially offered for 12 months.
There are around 1,700 births each year at James Paget. The Consultant team has recently been expanded and we are recruiting into these additional posts to support the development of the service. This will increase the Consultant team from 14 to 16.
The additional posts will provide the capacity to support the sustainable delivery of Gynaecology activity within National Waiting Time Milestones, including some elective work at weekends, while ensuring appropriate cover for the management of women and pregnant people requiring consultant‑led Obstetric care.
Applicants will be required to undertake a full Obstetric and Gynaecology commitment. We are looking for an individual with good Obstetric skills who can commit to providing high quality Obstetric care, and who will develop a multi‑disciplinary approach, especially those willing to take on a leadership role in Obstetrics.
