Responsibilities
Responsible for site-wide safety/technical inspections/audits across the ScottishPower Renewables portfolio, producing reports which detail issues and associated programmes to close-out, and coordinating the response and resolution of emergent, dynamic electrical issues identified by the Site Operations, Site Supervisory, and Control Centre functions.
With indirect management of Electrical sub‑contractors, support SPR Site Supervisory staff to ensure all electrical site activities are planned and carried out safely and efficiently, optimising site performance without compromising safety.
Contribute to the development, mentoring and ongoing assessment of contracting and internal staff (Field Supervisors, Operational Technicians and Apprentices) by performing diagnostic and fault‑finding techniques using specialist kit to determine root causes and establish corrective strategies.
Support the Electrical Networks Operations Manager in creating and developing policies and processes for managing electrical infrastructure, providing technical input to Technical Services and Construction Engineering teams, ensuring accurate documentation before handover to Operations & Maintenance and witnessing commissioning where practicable.
Provide emergency call‑out response for allocated sites, managing resources for electrical work, prioritising field team requests, and ensuring system and operative safety while maintaining availability and generation.
What you'll bring
Educated to HND or equivalent in an electrical engineering discipline, or with equivalent operational experience, and accredited by City and Guilds or equivalent in HV Network Operations.
Unrestricted travel across the UK and Ireland, with practical experience operating and maintaining industrial HV and LV systems up to 33kV (132kV desirable with DNO or generating company).
Experience in a Senior Authorised Person role with HV authorisation and/or Control Person authorisation, able to work at heights exceeding 70m and within enclosed spaces on a limited basis.
