Deputy Manager – Children’s Residential Home

Reports to: Registered Manager
Tudor Employment Agency are recruiting a Deputy Manager to support the day‑to‑day running of a 1‑bedded Residential Children’s Home. You’ll help lead the team, support young people, and ensure the home remains fully compliant with regulations and safeguarding standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Supporting the Registered Manager with daily operations and staff supervision
2. Leading and motivating staff to deliver person‑centred care
3. Ensuring compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations 2015, Quality Standards & SCCIF
4. Managing placement plans, risk assessments & positive handling plans
5. Ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed and reporting significant incidents within 24 hours
6. Maintaining Health & Safety, Fire Regulations & Regulation 44 actions
7. Participating in the on‑call rota and completing mandatory training
Safeguarding Lead Duties
8. Leading on all safeguarding and child protection concerns
9. Making referrals to statutory agencies when required
10. Ensuring staff understand safeguarding procedures and best practice
11. Staying updated on FGM, CSE, County Lines & Radicalisation
12. Maintaining accurate safeguarding records
Requirements
13. Level 4 Diploma in Children & Young People Workforce (or equivalent)
14. Working towards/completed Level 5 Diploma
15. Minimum 2 years’ supervisory experience
16. Enhanced DBS, Right to Work in the UK & clean driving licence
17. Strong communication and leadership skills

Salary
19. Starting salary: £33,300.80 per year (£16.01 per hour)
20. Pay increase after a successful 6‑month probation
21. Additional payment for on‑call duties
Subject to the nature of onsite emergencies, you may be required to attend the home to support if it cannot be resolved over the telephone.
On‑Call Requirements
22. Full UK driving licence essential
23. Part of the management on‑call rota (every 5 weeks)
24. Monday–Friday: 5:00pm – 09:00am
25. Weekends: 24‑hour coverage
