The Loss Prevention Manager (LPM) is a key leadership position within the Amazon Loss Prevention (LP) Team. This role offers a unique challenge to those curious about and eager to redefine the traditional LP role in a dynamic environment. The LPM leads efforts to provide security services and asset protection (lives, buildings, equipment, inventory, data, & intellectual property) within a designated area of responsibility. It involves root cause analysis, enabling impactful changes, and challenging the status quo to improve processes. The LPM aims to exceed internal and external customer expectations with innovative ideas and fosters an inclusive and diverse environment. Reporting to the Cluster Loss Prevention Manager, the LPM supports operational and cross-functional teams across the organization.
Key job responsibilities
1. Engage, coach, train, and influence business partners to integrate Loss Prevention practices by equipping them to identify risk indicators and escalate appropriately.
2. Serve as the subject matter expert for internal and external partners, promoting and implementing security best practices.
3. Assist with investigations of theft and fraud, conducting interviews when necessary.
4. Use data analysis tools to identify inventory issues and develop strategic loss mitigation plans.
5. Track, report, and analyze key performance metrics to drive performance improvements.
6. Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes and increase efficiency.
7. Develop business cases based on data collection and analysis, securing necessary approvals and resources.
8. Align team understanding with Amazon's, Global Security Operations', and Loss Prevention's vision and values.
9. Inspire excellence among security team members and third-party vendors.
10. Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing security personnel.
11. Plan, execute, and manage incident responses.
12. Address loss mitigation, physical security, and workplace violence incidents per policy.
13. This role requires working in a 24/7 operation, including nights, weekends, and holidays, with physical activity such as walking up to 5 km daily and lifting up to 10 kg.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* Bachelor’s Degree
* At least 2 years of experience in law enforcement, loss prevention, risk management, supply chain, or related fields
* Minimum of 2 years in data collection and root cause analysis
* Over 2 years of people management experience
* Experience assisting with investigations
* Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel (intermediate level)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Experience with databases (SQL, MYSQL, Access) and reporting tools
* Experience with security systems (intrusion detection, access control, video review)
* Knowledge of logistics, warehouse, distribution center operations, and multi-site loss management
* Interviewing and interrogation skills
* Workplace violence and business continuity expertise
