Head of Commercial Finance — x2 Newly Created Roles
£85,000–£95,000 + 15% Bonus + Benefits
Nottingham | Hybrid — 1 day a week in the office
Two roles. Same business. Both brand new. And both worth your time.
Let’s start with the business.
This is a well-established, consumer-facing technology group — profitable, genuinely growing, and ambitious. They’ve made a number of strategic acquisitions in recent years and now operate across multiple divisions and markets internationally. The finances are in great shape, the balance sheet is strong, and the agenda — both organic growth and further M&A — is very much live. These roles have been created off the back of that growth. Not to replace anyone.
Finance sits at the heart of this business. You won’t be a back-office function here — you’ll be a genuine commercial partner, close to the leadership team, in the room when the big decisions are being made.
The Roles
Both positions are Head of Commercial Finance, both report into the Group Finance Director, and neither has direct reports. Role 1 — £85,000–£90,000 + 10% bonus
This role sits within one of the group’s key divisions — a business with a strong product portfolio and international reach. You’ll be the commercial finance lead, partnering closely with the divisional leadership team on everything from budgeting and forecasting to investment decisions and commercial performance. Broad remit, real scope, and some occasional UK and international travel involved.
Role 2 — Up to £95,000
This role sits within the largest part of the group — an established, high-profile business in its own right. The commercial agenda moves quickly here and the stakes are higher, which is reflected in the salary. You’ll be working closely with senior leadership on financial planning, performance analysis, and supporting M&A and strategic investment activity. Occasional UK travel required.
What You’ll Be Doing
Across both roles, the day-to-day will look something like this — leading the annual budget and forecasting cycle, providing sharp financial analysis that actually influences decisions, building and stress-testing financial models, supporting commercial negotiations, and contributing to M&A due diligence and integration work. You’ll also be a key voice in how the business thinks about risk, opportunity, and growth.
What We’re Looking For
You’ll be a qualified accountant — ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent — and crucially, you’ll have built your career in a larger business. Whether that’s a listed company or a sizeable PE-backed environment, you’ll be used to the pace, the scruti...
