Associate Practitioner

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the 0-19 team as an associate practitioner (AP). Working alongside the health visitors, if you are passionate about improving the health and wellbeing of children and ensuring they meet their full potential, then this role could be perfect for you.
You will work primarily with children from birth to 7 years and their families, alongside experienced Health Visitors to deliver elements of the Healthy Child Programme (DH 2009).
To support the 0-19 service, you will:
* Support the Health Visiting Team with the Healthy Child Programme and deliver short‑ and medium‑term interventions to support parents and carers in responsive, positive interactions with their children.
* Be an active member of the 0-19 team supporting delivery of the core contacts and the six high‑impact areas of the Healthy Child Programme.
* Implement and evaluate packages of care at Universal, Targeted and Specialist levels led by Health Visitors and Public Health Nurses.
* Work in partnership with other agencies and families, contributing innovative ways of working with children and families.
Your attributes:
Excellent communication skills, passion for public health, professional resilience, creativity and flexibility. Experience in early years practice is essential.
We will support you through a specialised training programme with skilled guidance from the health visiting team.

Qualifications
* NVQ Level 4 in Health and Social Care, BTEC National Diploma in Child Care, CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Child Care & Education or equivalent experience.
* City and Guilds Work with Parents NVQ Level 4 qualification or ability to complete.
* An evidence‑based parenting programme.
* Attachment in the Early Years qualification.
