POST OF: CONSULTANT IN COMMUNITY PAEDIATRICS
Overview
Applications are invited to apply for the post of Consultant Community Paediatrics. The appointment will be on a less-than full time basis for 7.5 sessions a week.
Responsibilities
* Provide community paediatrics and neurodisability assessments, including secondary level review and management of children with developmental difficulties, special educational needs, and child protection medicals.
* Supervise specialist registrar and speciality doctor, and contribute to the departmental child protection rota.
* Provide community and neurodisability care for a defined geographical patch and for a special school, including routine clinical assessment and multidisciplinary assessments.
* Participate in the Monday‑Friday 9am‑5pm on‑call system for child protection, covering at other times as required.
Qualifications
* Consultant level in Community Paediatrics or a related specialty.
* Experience in neurodisability assessment and management is desirable.
* Commitment to working a reduced schedule of 7.5 sessions per week.
* Ability to supervise junior staff and contribute to teaching activities.
Teaching & Research
* Participate in undergraduate teaching, training of junior doctors, and multidisciplinary teaching.
* Engage in clinical examinations and research activities as part of the regular job plan review.
