Interim Opportunity: Lead Administrator
Location: Hybrid – Based in Edinburgh with flexibility for remote work
Duration: 6 months contract (Inside IR35)
ASA are working with a largescale public sector client who is looking for a dynamic and proactive Lead Administrator to join their team providing essential support to a fast-paced team driving organisational change. This role will involve leading a small team of administrators to ensure efficient, high-quality service delivery across all areas of the department.
The successful candidate will be instrumental in supporting the Leadership Team and ensuring smooth coordination of programmes, projects, and day-to-day administrative operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and coordinate activities of the Portfolio Management Office (PMO) admin team
* Manage documentation for meetings (agendas, minutes, actions, follow-ups)
* Provide organisational support to the Strategic Change Service Leadership Team
* Oversee administrative processes including diary management, invoices, POs, records, and payments
* Support recruitment admin, onboarding processes, and staff record keeping
* Maintain and monitor office resources, supplies, and basic IT support
* Participate in meetings, ensure accurate documentation, and uphold team standards
Essential Skills & Experience
* Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
* Proven ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced, changing environment
* High standard of organisation, accuracy, and attention to detail
* Experience producing high-level correspondence and committee minutes
* Self-motivated, professional, resilient, and able to manage sensitive information with tact
* Strong Microsoft Office skills (including Outlook, SharePoint, and Teams)
Desirable
* Minimum 2 years' experience in a senior administrative, PA, or EA role supporting Directors or Heads of Department
* Experience working in a strategic change or project management environment
Additional Information
* You will work closely with senior stakeholders including the Director of Strategic Change, Heads of Service, PMO Administrators, and Project Managers
* This role requires a confident decision-maker with sound judgement and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
