Job summary We require a motivated higher level clinical support worker to work on Ward 7. Ward 7 is a 32 bedded surgical ward, specialising in General Surgery. The successful candidates will be an active member of the multidisciplinary team demonstrating a range of nursing skills to meet the needs of the patient in a safe, caring environment that promotes dignity, privacy and respect under appropriate supervision of the registered nurses. Please note if you do not have the qualifications or experience marked as essential for a Band 3 role, you will be appointed at a Band 2. Band 2 requirements - willingness to undertake all relevant training and qualifications if wishing to develop into a band 3 role. Band 3 requirements - Numeracy and Literacy Level 2 or GCSE equivalent (A-C/ 4-9) Care certificate Level 3 vocational qualification or Short courses and completion of competency workbook equivalent to Level 3 in a range of patient and clinical care duties and/or Equivalent knowledge and experience in a range of clinical care duties equivalent to Level 3; - Theoretical knowledge - Experience of a range of care and related procedures - clinical observations - knowledge of relevant legislation There is a clear framework to allow for postholders to develop from a band 2 to band 3 and this includes completion of the qualifications.
