Wood has an exciting long-term opportunity for an ambitious Engineering Manager to join our brownfield projects team on our Harbour Engineering Contract delivering critical emissions reduction and efficiency projects. A proven track record of strong engineering delivery on projects is essential for the role.
Responsible for the engineering execution of concurrent multi-discipline brownfield projects in alignment with the engineering scope of work and basis for design. This includes but is not limited to coordinating and completing the various engineering and execution support activities to the respective HSSE, quality, schedule, and budget performance goals, with a critical responsibility for technical excellence across all disciplines. In particular contributes to delivery of engineering excellence through:
1. Driving technical assurance on the assigned scope(s) of work
2. Managing and leading, supporting and supervising the discipline engineering teams on the assigned scope(s) of work.
3. Management of key stakeholders in the execution and delivery of contracted activities.
4. Developing and retaining motivated and competent people.
5. Undertaking the role of process owner.
6. Driving safety by design
7. Driving and leading on opportunities for innovation
May participate directly in the design, development and inspection of technical projects or in the engineering work of the department. The Engineering Manager leads by example, consistently displaying and enforcing the Company’s values and behaviours, and commitment to the highest
Qualifications
8. ISCED Level 6 Bachelor’s (minimum) degree or Level 7 Masters (preferred) in an engineering discipline
9. Chartered Engineer/Registered Professional Engineer or equivalent with recognised professional body
Experience, Skills and Knowledge
10. Typically requires 10+ years progressive experience in discipline engineering
11. Balance of technical and management experience at relevant level and position
12. Typically requires several years of supervisory experience with an understanding of human relations, training, performance evaluation and health and safety
13. Broad and extensive knowledge of engineering theories and techniques and a high level of skill in application of this knowledge in the management of the engineering function
14. Capable of representing business and client to business associates in a professional manner
15. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of influencing people at all levels of the organization
16. Skilled in forecast planning for people resources
17. Skilled in recruitment and selection, employee communication and management including performance management
18. Able to implement and embed standards and processes to effect delivery of engineering excellence
19. Good knowledge of regulatory framework and associated legislation
20. Current knowledge of industry and technology development within area of expertise
21. Expert in Engineering excellence
22. Able to carry out audit and incident investigations
23. Good Project management skills.
