For Vacancies at Denominational Schools
Evidence of Catholic Church Approval - Applicants must seek Catholic Church approval when submitting their application and provide a copy to the Chair of the Panel before the interview. If approval is pending, confirmation of submission will be sought from the Church Representative.
Denominational Primary Posts - Applicants must have the Catholic Teaching Certificate or Catholic Religious Education Certificate. Forms and further information are available from the Scottish Catholic Education Service (SCES) website.
Denominational Secondary Posts - Applicants need RC approval for the specific school to which they are applying. Further information and forms are available from the SCES website.
Responsibilities
This post is considered regulated work with children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Membership of the PVG scheme is required, or a scheme update check must be completed before an offer is made.
The employment is exempt from section 4(2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders (Exceptions) Order 1975. Applicants must disclose all convictions, including those that are 'spent,' as failure to do so could lead to dismissal or disciplinary action.
