Role Overview and Responsibilities TT Electronics, Abercynon, is hiring for a
Head of Commercial, responsible for driving sustainable business growth by maximising opportunities with existing customers through
strong relationship management ,
commercial excellence, and
programme delivery .
The role oversees the
Programmes Team
and
Internal Sales Team, ensuring seamless management of customer programmes, and effective bid management.
A key focus will be on developing long‑term strategic partnerships with core customers in the Rail, Defence and Industrial sectors, creating value‑driven, commercially robust solutions that support mutual growth.
As the Head of Commercial, you will be responsible for:
Building, nurturing,
and
expanding
long‑term strategic partnerships with core customers.
Acting as the
primary point of contact
for senior customer stakeholders, ensuring trust and transparency.
Managing
forecasts, objectives
and
targets .
Leading
contract renegotiations
and
bid management .
Owning and delivering the key inputs into the
Demand Review
for the Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning (SIOP) process.
Leading and managing the
Programmes Team
and
Inside Sales Team, ensuring clear direction, accountability, and delivery against objectives.
Monitoring and
analysing financial performance
of customer programmes to ensure profitability and cost control.
Identifying and mitigating
commercial
and
contractual risk s across bids and ongoing customer programmes.
Maintaining deep knowledge of Rail, Defence and Industrial sector trends, customer developments, and competitor activities.
Representing the business
at industry forums, customer reviews, and networking events to strengthen market position.
Qualifications, Skills and Attributes What we're looking for:
Proven
commercial management experience
within Aerospace & Defence or a related sector.
A strong track record in
customer relationship management, particularly with long‑term strategic accounts.
Expertise in
programme and bid management.
Exceptional
leadership and team management skills.
Strong
financial and analytical acumen
with the ability to manage budgets, assess risks, and drive profitability.
Excellent
communication and influencing skills, with confidence engaging senior stakeholders and clients.
Results‑driven, proactive, and able to balance strategic thinking with hands‑on delivery.
