Job Role: Maintenance and Reliability Manager

Our client is a major manufacturing site specializes in the production, formulation, and packaging of high-end personal care, cosmetic, and skincare products are looking for a Maintenance and Reliability Manager.
The Role:
The Maintenance and Reliability Manager is a member of the Engineering Operations Team that drives Maintenance and Reliability improvements in Assembly & Compounding Operations with full accountability for maintenance activities and engineering performance. This position monitors and controls the maintenance and reliability of the Assembly & Compounding Operations machinery and leads a team of multi-skilled cross functional employees through the daily activities across the shifts found within the Engineering Operations department.
Lead, develop, and empower the site Maintenance & Reliability function to deliver world-class asset performance across multiple high-speed Filling & Assembly lines, plant utilities, and more than 50 compounding vessels along with Hot & Cold Purified Water Systems and Utilities.
This role ensures the reliability and availability of all production, utility, and facility assets through a robust AM/PM strategy, strong technical leadership, and data-driven continuous improvement — supporting safe, compliant, and efficient operations in line with GMP and corporate standards.
Key activities for this position include leading maintenance and reliability processes that will focus on reaching operational excellence, developing and implementing strategies to increase the skill level across the maintenance team, and enhancing the maintenance capabilities to deliver improved equipment reliability decreasing their repair and maintenance costs.
The Maintenance and Reliability Manager position is also responsible for driving Supply Chain strategies and Continuous Improvement objectives, working in collaboration with the Project Teams, CE, Process and Industrial Engineers and key technical personnel in the development of progressive training, improved performance with associated assessment programs.
The Maintenance and Reliability Manager:

* Must be familiar with TPM Techniques within day to day operations to reduce downtime.
* Must possess a strong use of continuous Improvement methodologies, to align reliability efforts with, and support existing programs to meet or exceed our Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost performance expectation.
* Must be able to apply root cause analysis for problem solving and lead collaborative teams.
* Well versed in equipment automation, PLC Logic Control, Robotics, Servo Drive Systems, CMMS, MRO Storeroom Management and Automated Packaging Designs
They will have a direct impact on Safety, Quality, OEE, Cost management, Customer satisfaction, Innovation and LEAN methodologies within Engineering Operations.
Efficiency Goals
Lead and coach a team of multi-skilled engineers to deliver maintenance excellence across 24/5 or 24/7 operations.
Own the site’s Preventive and Autonomous Maintenance (PM/AM) strategies — ensuring full integration with production operations, maximizing uptime, and reducing unplanned stoppages.
Drive reliability improvement programs using KPIs such as OEE, MTBF, MTTR, and BCT.
Manage maintenance planning, scheduling, and execution through CMMS (Maximo) or equivalent systems.
Drive the implementation of TPM Techniques within the day-to-day operation to reduce downtime, improve uptime, minimize frequent stops and improve equipment availability and utilization. Works with Operational Excellence team to establish best practice and Continuous Improvement strategies. This includes the appropriate programs, policies, procedures and management systems to drive improved reliability performance with the lowest long-term cost of ownership.
Utilize and support systems that will drive the focus on Equipment Reliability Tracking, monitoring such things as Mean Time between Failure, Root Cause Failure Analysis and drive Maximo compliance.
Be able to develop and train Production Support Staff; provide effective Training of certified personnel and Skill develop programs that will drive and improve productivity and flexibility in cross training. Define and develop required communication and rollout plan for addressing asset reliability deficiencies.
Work collaboratively to ensure quality system improvements. Assists in Deviation and CAPA investigations to improve overall QMS adherence.
Deliver sustainable cultural and behavioral changes across the business to build the right relationship between TPM within a CI culture. Ability to lead, coach, mentor and influence employees and business partners alike.

Assist in evaluating performance of employees, make recommendations for improvement, and apply the corrective action process, as required
Manage scheduled preventive maintenance to drive the highest customer service level
Ensure engineering resources are available for Projects, Investigations, Trials and New Products.
Assist the facilitation of team meetings and forums to share information and encourage inclusive working methods.
Perform all other duties as assigned which may become necessary to support departmental/organizational objectives
Provide constructive feedback and recommendations on equipment changes/installations.
Technical & Asset Management
Oversee maintenance and reliability performance across:
High-speed Filling & Assembly lines (mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical systems)
Over 50 production vessels (agitated, jacketed, vacuum and pressure-rated)
Steam generation and condensate recovery systems
Purified Water systems (cold and hot loops) and clean utilities
Compressed air, HVAC, and Building Management Systems (BMS)
Ensure asset compliance with site GMP, safety, and corporate engineering standards.
Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA), FMEA, and reliability-centred maintenance (RCM) processes.
Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence
• Partner with Operations to deliver AM/PM maturity and embed Engineering support into the PPS / TPM model.
• Identify and eliminate chronic losses, energy waste, and repeat failures.
• Support automation, condition monitoring, and predictive maintenance technologies (vibration, thermography, etc.).
• Drive continuous improvement projects to enhance OEE, safety, and cost efficiency.
Governance, Compliance & Safety
• Champion a zero-injury safety culture and compliance with all EHS and GMP standards.
• Own maintenance documentation, SOPs, and validation records for engineering activities.
• Ensure compliance of electrical, pressure, and lifting equipment with statutory and corporate requirements.
• Support external audits, regulatory inspections, and CAPA closure.
People & Stakeholder Leadership
• Develop and mentor engineering talent through structured PDPs and competency frameworks.
• Foster a high-performance, “Engineering One Team” culture across shifts and disciplines.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Projects, Facilities, and Validation teams to ensure reliability is built into new assets.
• Manage contractors, service providers, and OEM relationships to ensure safe, value-added performance.

Qualification and Experience:
Degree equivalent or relevant 5 years job-related experience
