A specialist secondary school in West London is seeking a full-time SEMH Support Assistant to work 1:1 with pupils who require additional emotional and behavioural support. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity, offering the chance to become a permanent member of staff after a successful initial period. About the School The school provides a therapeutic and inclusive environment for pupils aged 11–16 with SEMH and ASC. Many students have experienced challenges in mainstream settings and benefit from tailored support to help them re-engage with learning and build confidence. The Role As an SEMH Support Assistant, you will: * Provide 1:1 support to pupils with emotional and behavioural needs. * Help pupils regulate emotions and manage behaviour positively. * Support learning in core subjects and life skills. * Work closely with teachers, therapists, and pastoral staff. * Build trusting relationships that foster resilience and self-esteem. This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, during term time. Who We’re Looking For We’re looking for someone who is: * Experienced in working with young people with SEMH, ASC, or behavioural needs. * Calm, empathetic, and confident in de-escalating challenging situations. * Proactive and adaptable, with a trauma-informed approach. * DBS-checked (on the Update Service) or willing to apply immediately. * Eligible to work in the UK.
