Production Engineer
Location: Hailsham, East Sussex
Full-Time Permanent and Contract (3-6 months)
Overview
A fantastic opportunity for a degree educated Mechanical Engineer in the East Sussex area for a talented Production Engineer. With at least five years' experience as a Product Engineer and an interest in science, this role offers career progression opportunities with our innovative company.
Responsibilities
* Assist in the NPI process and help oversee our manufacturing processes
* Carry out root cause analysis and maintain the 8D/RMA system
* Ensure best practice and health and safety codes are followed
* Identify problems in the production line, troubleshoot manufacturing issues and complete administrative tasks
* Lead and carry out 8D/RMA activities while maintaining the 8D/RMA process within Engineering
* Develop operating instructions and equipment specifications for production activities
* Implement cost reduction initiatives while maintaining high quality standards
* Monitor manufacturing processes, ensuring quality work is done safely and efficiently
* Diagnose problems in the production line, provide recommendations and training to eliminate issues
* Liaise with other engineers to develop plans that improve production, costs, and labour content
* Establish safety procedures and protocols that protect workers and minimise carbon footprint
* Keep abreast of advancements in engineering and production, sharing knowledge with colleagues
* Identify, document, and report unsafe practices
* Check drawings, routes & new BOM items for completeness and production readiness

* Schedule meetings with relevant departments and stakeholders
* Analyse all facets of production and make recommendations for improvement
* Identify and obtain materials and equipment required
Essential Skills & Experience
* Experience with CAD software
* Proficiency in MS Office
* Proven experience in the engineering field

* Able to work on your own and as part of a team
* Open minded to new ideas with an enquiring mind
* A hands-on doer with the skills to assemble small and large complex assemblies; physical fitness and dexterity may be required
Qualifications
* Degree or HNC/D in Mechanical Engineering

If you have experience of Microsoft Dynamics and an HNC/D in Mechanical and Production Engineering or a Mechanical Engineering Degree.
