Assistant Quantity Surveyor : (Civils and Utilities)

The Opportunity:
Due to a period of sustained growth, we are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their close:knit team on a permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your career in a dynamic and supportive environment.
You will be working closely with the Senior Quantity Surveyor, taking on increasing responsibility for the day:to:day commercial management of their diverse projects. While the QS focuses on strategic reporting, you will be integral to the hands:on project delivery, ensuring financial control and efficiency from inception to completion.
This role is ideal for a recent graduate in Quantity Surveying or an individual with 1:2 years of experience looking for more direct project involvement and mentorship.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assisting with the preparation of estimates and cost plans.
* Managing day:to:day project finances and cost control.
* Identifying and issuing early warning notices in a timely manner.
* Assisting in the preparation of monthly valuations and applications for payment.
* Procurement of subcontractors and materials.
* Measurement and valuation of works in progress.
* Assisting with the preparation of final accounts.
* Maintaining accurate commercial records.
* Liaising with clients, subcontractors, and the internal operational teams.
What Were Looking For:
* A degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or a related construction field.
* Some experience in a Quantity Surveying role within the civils, utilities, or highways sector is advantageous but not essential.
* A strong desire to learn and develop a long:term career in Quantity Surveying.
* Excellent numerical and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* A proactive and can:do attitude.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
* A valid UK driving licence.
