Electrician/ Electrical Systems Engineer required for a reputable housing association within the Sunderland Region.
Were looking for a skilled Electrical Systems Engineer to join our Property Maintenance Compliance team in Sunderland. This is a hands-on role where youll be responsible for the installation, repair, maintenance and testing of electrical and life safety systems across domestic and non-domestic properties.
About the role
Youll work largely independently, managing your workload efficiently while maintaining high standards of safety, compliance and customer care. From intruder alarms and access control systems to fire alarms and minor electrical works, youll play a key role in keeping our properties safe, compliant and fully operational.
Location: Sunderland
Salary: £37,538 Per Annum
What youll be doing
Carrying out installation, repair, maintenance and testing of:
Intruder alarm systems
Door entry and access control systems
Fire alarm systems
Minor electrical works including heating controls, BMS panel inspections and lighting repairs
Working across domestic and commercial properties
Completing all required paperwork and certification in line with British Standards and regulatory requirements
Liaising with managers, customers and other trades as needed
Ensuring all work is completed efficiently, safely and to the required technical standards
Maintaining a clean and tidy working environment
Always taking responsibility for your work and behavior
Participating in an emergency out-of-hours rota when required
What were looking for
Essential requirements:
NVQ Level 3 in an electrical discipline
AM2 practical trade test qualification
Fully competent working to the current IET Wiring Regulations (BS7671)
Experience working on electrical installations in domestic and commercial properties
Experience with:
Intruder alarm systems
Door access control and intercom systems
Fire alarm systems
Strong understanding of Health & Safety regulations
Ability to read and understand security system drawings and specifications
Good customer care and communication skills
Ability to use specialist software via laptop
Full UK driving licence
Enhanced DBS check (required)
Desirable:
Served a recognized electrical apprenticeship (e.g. City & Guilds 2361 Part 1 & 2 or equivalent)
