Overview
Children's Services in Wokingham Borough Council are currently transitioning through a planned phase of redesign, in line with the National Reforms. We have opportunities that align with our systemic values and service goals. There is an opening for a Social Worker to join the Children We Care For team (Here4U). The main focus is to work with Children and Young People in Our Care in Wokingham. Your systemic based practice will have a direct impact on our Children in Care, supporting high aspirations and achievable goals as a good corporate parent.
You will work with children and young people from birth to 18 years old in settings including kinship placements, foster care, residential care, placement with parents, UASC, and semi-independent living. You will collaborate with professionals and family members to meet the children\'s needs (which may be outside the Borough) on a planned and critical basis. You will work directly with children and young people daily, building long-term relationships and supporting their care plans to adulthood. You will have opportunities to work alongside other Social Work teams as the service reshapes through the redesign process.
Please note that all offers are conditional and subject to satisfactory completion of pre-employment checks. Wokingham Borough Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff, workers and volunteers to share this commitment. All successful candidates will be subject to Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks along with other relevant employment checks. Due to the high volume of applications we receive, we are unable to respond to every applicant individually. If you do not hear from us within 4 weeks of the application closing date, please assume that your application has not been successful on this occasion.
