Excellent Substantial Benefits My client is the rapidly growing European subsidiary of a global Film company who specialise in lighting, rigging, generators, etc. They also own film studies as well as facilitate studios for other organisations. They seek a hands-on Night Shift Manager to lead overnight operations and drive performance across our equipment control and equipment departments. This is a critical leadership role focused on delivering operational excellence, eliminating shortages, maintaining strict stock accuracy, and ensuring equipment flows efficiently through the business overnight. You will act as the key link between teams, ensuring clear communication, strong pace of work, and consistent execution of company standards. As a first-line manager, you will lead Equipment Supervisors, Technicians, agency staff, and trainees. You will manage staffing levels, conduct return-to-work interviews, oversee absence and holiday processes, deliver regular 1-2-1s, and drive performance through clear feedback, development plans, and competency reviews. You will also lead investigations where required and deliver weekly toolbox talks to maintain high operational and safety standards. Working closely with the Equipment Manager and department supervisors, you will ensure returns areas are controlled, inventory system is accurate, stock anomalies are investigated, and quality control standards are upheld across all equipment prepared for dispatch. Key Duties Strong first-line management capability, with proven experience in personnel management, conflict resolution, effective communication, and supporting the training and development of teams. IT literate, with a solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and confidence using operational systems such as Inventory software and Microsoft Teams. Excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt within a fast-paced, high-expectation environment. Maintaining exceptional service and quality standards. Proactive mindset, strong organisational skills, and a focus on continual improvement are essential. Flexibility to work overtime and occasional weekends in line with business requirements is also required. Health & Safety: At all times demonstrate a commitment to achieving a culture of safety. To ensure all health and safety policies are followed, including manual handling, use of mechanical handling equipment and safe storage of equipment. At all times maintain ensure clear pedestrian and evacuation routes through the warehouse and external areas. To also prevent any stored equipment or handling equipment from presenting a hazard. Escalate areas of concern through the correct channels. Essential Skills: Driven to achieve and maintain the highest quality and service standards. Must be IT literate with the ability to learn in-house asset management systems. Demonstrating a positive approach to the company whilst reacting to the high demands of the business. Very good communication skills. Adaptable and willingness to learn. Available to work a 40-hour week on a roster basis between the hours of 19:00 to 07:00 Monday to with occasional Saturday. Some additional weekend and evening working may be required.
