A PE-backed client calls asking for an Interim CTO to lead a £20m ERP transformation.
Day rate £1,200. Six-month mandate.

You’d take responsibility for building the senior interim technology practice, converting existing finance relationships into tech mandates and developing new ones of your own.
The platform already exists:
• Established brand in the interim market
• Warm board-level client relationships
• Infrastructure, compliance and back-office support
• A leadership team that understands interim recruitment
The work typically sits at £500-£1,500 day rate, often tied to transformation programmes and PE-backed change projects.
You’d have full autonomy over how you build the market with scope to hire once the desk is established.
The package
£70-80k base depending on experience
Year 1
10% commission on all revenue, no threshold
Year 2 onwards
Up to 30% for top performers
For the right person who builds this into a genuine practice, the founder has indicated there’s a longer-term conversation to be had around meaningful upside. That’s not a contractual promise, but it reflects how the business thinks about people who move the needle.
