Are you passionate about helping young people overcome emotional and social barriers to learning? Hampton Gardens School is seeking a skilled and compassionate Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join our highly respected Achievement Support Department at Hampton Gardens School from September 2025, with a focus on Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) support.
Our Achievement Support Department is a purpose-built, inclusive hub featuring:

You’ll be part of a dynamic team including a teaching SENDCo, Deputy SENDCo, Assistant SENCo, Teaching Assistants (Levels 1–3), a Pupil Premium Mentor, and a SEN Admin Assistant. We are committed to student voice, emotional resilience, and inclusive education.
What You’ll Be Doing
In this role, you will:
* Lead and deliver targeted SEMH interventions, including the Boxall Profile.
* Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with complex needs.
* Coordinate and implement exam access arrangements in line with JCQ regulations.
* Mentor and guide Level 1 and 2 Teaching Assistants.
* Collaborate with the SEN Leadership Team, teachers, and external agencies.
* Contribute to Individual Provision Maps, Pupil Passports, and the Graduated Approach.
* Support therapeutic interventions, including animal therapy and ELSA-based strategies.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who:
* Has experience as a Level 2 Teaching Assistant or equivalent.
* Is confident delivering interventions across the curriculum.
* Has strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Is trained (or working towards training) as an Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA).
* Brings a calm, empathetic, and flexible approach to supporting students with SEMH needs.
Desirable:
* Experience coordinating exam access arrangements.
* Familiarity with the Graduated Approach and Early Help processes.
* Background in therapeutic approaches such as animal therapy.
Working Hours:
Monday to Friday, 8:15am – 3:30pm (32.5 hours/week)
Term time only + 5 additional days
Salary:
(Grade 7):
Full-time (52 weeks): From £27,711 – £31,067
Actual salary (32.5 hrs/week, term time + 5 days): From £20,842 – £23,367
