The role: 40 hours a week
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team in the role of Team Leader, leading and co-ordinating a small maintenance team, to ensure that our school, residential houses and grounds are maintained to the highest of standards.
You will work alongside two other maintenance colleagues undertaking daily maintenance tasks and planned projects of improvement. You will meet with the team during the morning handover and co-ordinate and plan the jobs for the day/week in-line with the maintenance spreadsheet. As the team leader you will delegate tasks and ensure that the maintenance team are effective and efficient, providing guidance and leadership as required.
What is required for this role:
* Lead and motivate the maintenance team to achieve goals and objectives
* A good all-round knowledge of several trades, plumbing, electrics, joinery, decorating, drainage
* A background in property maintenance/facilities
* A can-do attitude with attention to detail and excellent workmanship
* Ability to work as part of a team, co-ordinate jobs and meet agreed deadlines for completion
* Good communication skills and ability to direct the work of outside contractors and the current maintenance team
* Effective organisational skills and multi-tasking capabilities
* A creative approach to ensuring that our environment is a nurturing and homely place for children to live
* Knowledge of Health and Safety and ability to work in partnership with the Health and Safety Officer
* On-call duties on a rota basis
* Full driving licence is essential
