Support Worker for person P/T @ £12.40 in Yate - Bristol - BS37
My client D has autism, ADHD, memory problems, Dyspraxia, Dyslexia, Epilepsy, Angina and is Diabetic. He lives alone and has a close relationship with his Parents who live nearby.
D has lots of interests, including playing Computer Games and Star Trek Comicon. D likes to learn new things and would like to learn to play his electric guitar, attend pottery classes, learn meditation and play Dungeons and Dragons and attend events.
Main Duties
Support required with:
1. Supervision accessing the community.
2. Needs support crossing the road and with road safety.
3. Help with steps as he cannot judge depth.
4. Navigating to and from his home.
5. Support to route plan and become familiar in his local area.
6. Support with sensory overload when he is out in the community, he needs reassurance and may need to leave if he becomes overwhelmed.
7. Support to maintain cleanliness in his flat.
8. Wants to attend Star Trek convention in Blackpool in June 2025 and would like his PA to attend.
Essential Criteria
1. Experience of working with autism and ADHD and have an understanding of the needs of a person who is Neurodiverse.
2. Non-smoker.
3. Must have use of own vehicle.
4. Mileage is included for attending the convention in June 2025.
Personal Qualities & Attributes Required
1. Responsible, reliable, and trustworthy.
2. Excellent timekeeping.
3. Some previous PA experience would be advantageous.
4. Good communication and social skills.
5. To respect confidentiality and privacy.
Location:
Yate, South Gloucestershire.
Hours:
16 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 12 onwards, some flexibility with the hours is required.
Pay:
£11.88 Per Hour.
Holiday:
5.6 weeks per year including bank holidays (pro rata for part time).
Start Date:
ASAP.
