A fantastic and exciting opportunity has arisen within Midlothian Justice Services for a full-time Justice Practitioner. The successful candidate will work as a member of the Justice Social Work team supporting the delivery of interventions to reduce reoffending whilst supporting health and wellbeing through inclusion and reintegration with their local communities. The role involves working with adults in contact with the Justice system, as well as children and young people whose parents/carers are involved in the Justice system, including those identified within the Caledonian System. Justice Practitioners will also support non-statutory justice provision, including early intervention and prevention activities, working with people subject to Structured Deferred Sentences, supporting those on HDC/electronic monitoring, and undertaking relevant tasks.

Knowledge
The successful candidate must meet the following essential criteria:
* Educated to HNC social care and SVQ Level 3 or equivalent with a relevant discipline.
* Experience working with national and local practice, policy, procedure, and legislation relevant to the post, including awareness of the SSSC Code of Practice, Human Rights legislation, and Adult Support and Protection.
* Experience working with adults and families, including trauma-based interventions.
* Knowledge of the roles and responsibilities of key agencies.
Desirable:
* Experience and training in delivering restorative justice interventions, and/or
* Experience and training in delivering the Caledonian System.
Midlothian Justice Services are co-located with statutory partners in various health and mental health services, as well as third sector organizations like MELD, Health in Mind, and Change, Grow, Live. The position will primarily be office-based with the option to work from home upon approval. The working pattern will be mutually agreed with the successful candidate and the recruiting manager.
Skills
A valid full driving licence is considered essential for this post.

Salary: Minimum of £37,618.22 per annum, based on a 36-hour week over 52 weeks. Successful applicants will be appointed at the first point on the salary scale.
