Description Job Reference SCI151125 Closing Date: 08 June 2025 Working hours: The role will be for around 14 hours per week and between 350- 390 hours in total. This will be discussed with the successful candidate. Start date: 14/07/2025 End date: 13/01/2026 Hourly Rate: Between £16.78 and £18.63 per hour (depending on skills and experience) About the Role: The Research Assistant will provide crucial support to the creative and logistical elements of the Leverhulme Research Project Grant titled “Conspiracy-juror bias: Studying how a conspiracy mindset affects jurors,” led by Dr Daniel Jolley. Working closely with the Principal Investigator and wider research team, the postholder will manage the planning and production of scripted audio materials that will form a mock trial (audio). This will include supporting scriptwriting and editing, recruiting voice actors, and coordinating audio production. This role requires creative project management experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to oversee multiple aspects of audio media delivery, including the editing of the audio. The postholder will play a key role in ensuring the smooth delivery of this innovative phase of the research project. The projected end date of this assignment is 13th January 2026. Role is frequent but will have irregular hours, with certain periods being more intense. Each week will be slightly different. About You: The successful candidate will have: Proven experience managing creative projects, particularly involving media, audio, or arts-based content. Strong organisational skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks and timelines simultaneously. Experience supporting or developing scripted materials (e.g., for audio, theatre, or video). Confidence in recruiting and liaising with creative professionals (such as actors or voiceover artists). Familiarity with audio production processes, including editing and post-production (e.g., using Audacity or similar tools). Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team, while also independently A proactive, solution-focused approach to managing tasks and solving problems. An interest in psychological or behavioural research and/or science communication and/or law and crime (desirable).
