About the role:
Due to extensive growth, innovations, and development within our JCB Research team, we are now looking for a technical specialist lead within thermal management. This role will provide specialist advice to JCB teams globally on our thermal systems, involving the technical review of all thermal NPIP projects, definition of standards, and the development of new technologies.
What does this role involve day to day?
* Review thermal management systems on all new product introduction programmes and determine project risk.
* Work closely with all business units to ensure robust thermal system delivery on JCB vehicles.
* Define Group thermal standards.
* Collaborate with Purchasing to define and develop suitable suppliers for thermal system components.
* Develop new innovative thermal systems to a level where risk is appropriate to NPIP.
* Support environmental testing of thermal systems and analyse results.
* Provide expert support to resolve any thermal management-related service problems
This will be suited to you if:
* You're an experienced engineer with extensive industry experience working with thermal management systems.
* You have a comprehensive understanding of thermodynamic principles governing systems.
* You're an expert in the HVAC field.
* You have several years’ experience in Off-Highway/Automotive HVAC systems design and strategy.
* You have experience or knowledge of HVAC software strategies and implementation (desirable).
* You're an excellent communicator with the ability to influence and deliver against JCB Product Engineering Strategies.
* You can manage, mentor, and coach direct reports and peers.
* You're a mentor/user/advisor of CAE tools including CFD and 1D simulations.
* You're a Chartered Engineer or equivalent.
* Your technical expertise comes with strong people and influencing skills, enabling you to develop and challenge our thermal standards and systems globally.
