Sister/Charge Nurse and Clinical Educator
Band 6 Qualified in Specialty neonatal nurse, working 2 days a week as a Clinical Practice Facilitator (CPF) and the remainder on the NICU clinical roster, covering maternity leave.
As a CPF you will facilitate the development pathway for nursing staff, support pre‑ and post‑registration students, and deliver mandatory training, study days and quality initiatives. The role involves providing supervision, developing competencies, and promoting lifelong learning within the neonatal unit.
Main duties of the job
* Facilitate learning and professional development for NMAHPs, CSWs and learners on clinical placements, as directed by the Divisional Education Lead.
* Collaborate with education colleagues across the organisation to share best practice and ensure a positive placement experience at CUH.
* Provide supervision and support for all staff and learners, promoting evidence‑based practice.
* Teach both formally and informally, in classroom and clinical settings.
* Support a lifelong learning culture through educational resources, clinical supervision and reflective practice.
* Audit clinical practice and raise quality risks to the Divisional Education Lead.
* Maintain a centralised database of skills and competencies, addressing any shortfalls.
* Coordinate and deliver Trust‑wide education activities, including induction, preceptorship, skill development, medical devices training and competency sign‑off.
* Contribute to CUH Academy education for internal and external delegates.

Qualifications
* Registered Children’s Nurse.
* Current relevant continuous professional development evidence.
* Postgraduate Certificate in Education or working towards.
* Fellow of Higher Education Academy or working towards.
* Evidence of ongoing CPD in area of specialism.
* Qualified in Speciality.
* Professional Nurse Advocate.
* Evidence of ability to study at Master’s level.
Experience
* Evidence of mentorship/preceptorship roles.
* Teaching experience (formal or informal).

* NHS experience.
