        SHE Technician – Food Manufacturing
You know that person on site who always spots the missing guard, the blocked fire exit, or the dodgy contractor climbing a rack?
Yeah… I'm looking for you.
The Role
You’ll be the go-to person for everything Health, Safety and Environment on site — the one making sure people get home with all their fingers still attached.
Day-to-day, that means:
Helping managers and supervisors actually own safety rather than just talk about it.
Getting stuck into incident investigations (not just ticking boxes).
Carrying out inspections and audits, spotting trends before they become “issues.”
Coaching, training, and occasionally saving the day when someone forgets what “lock out/tag out” means.
Supporting site projects, making sure H&S isn’t an afterthought.
Keeping track of KPIs and making sense of the numbers so leadership can do something useful with them.
You’ll be the bridge between the people on the floor and the people upstairs — helping create a culture that’s safe, sustainable, and still productive.
What You’ll Need
You don’t have to know it all yet, but you’ll need a foundation:
NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent (IEMA/IOSH a bonus).
Experience working in a manufacturing or warehousing environment (food manufacturing is ideal).
A bit of know-how around things like machinery safety, contractor management, and environmental compliance.
The kind of curiosity that makes you ask “why?” instead of “who messed up?”
If you’re already an SHE Technician or H&S Officer who wants to grow, this is a proper opportunity to develop with support and structure — not just be the “clipboard person.”
The Person
You’ll suit this role if:
You’re confident enough to challenge people — and smart enough to do it without pissing them off.
You like solving problems more than creating paperwork.
You actually care about people, not just procedures.
You’ve got that balance of positivity and pragmatism that keeps a site moving forward.
 The Company
A well-established, family-owned food manufacturer that’s been around long enough to know what they’re doing — but modern enough to care about doing it better.
They’ve got multiple sites across the UK, invest properly in their people, and treat health, safety and sustainability as more than a box-ticking exercise.
 The Details
Hours: Monday to Friday
Location: Wendover
This opportunity comes with benefits including health scheme, pension, and plenty of personal development opportunities.
If you’d rather work somewhere that values your input instead of rolling their eyes when you talk about safety, this might be worth a chat.
