Phlebotomy can be a physically challenging job, requiring manual dexterity, the ability to be on your feet throughout your shift and the ability to manoeuvre in tight and cramped spaces. We operate a seven‑day service between 08:00 and 20:00, and the post holder will be required to work across all these times to deliver the service. You may also be asked to work on bank holidays. However, the service requirements are continually changing to meet the needs of the patients, so flexibility is a key component.
Responsibilities
* Maintain patient dignity and confidentiality at all times.
* Adhere to Trust Aseptic Non‑Touch Technique Policy (ANTT).
* Work unsupervised in community diagnostic centres.

* Maintain work areas and trolleys, keeping them clean, neat, and tidy.
* Undertake surveys/audits when requested.
* Attend to staff and patients’ queries, referring appropriately.
* Comply with all Health and Safety Regulations.
* Use a visual display unit to book appointments and access the Trust intranet, Q‑pulse and work‑related e‑mails.
* Comply with a seven‑day service inclusive of bank holidays between 08:00 and 20:00. Must be flexible to adapt to the needs of the service.
* Cover other staff when required.
* Perform any duties as defined by the Phlebotomy Operations Manager / CT Service Lead and Team leader in charge.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team of phlebotomists working for the Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust at the Community Diagnostic Centres.
