Colorectal Cancer Triage Clinical Nurse Specialist
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time Band 7 position as a Macmillan Colorectal Specialist Nurse Macclesfield District General Hospital. You will become part of a highly experienced and dedicated team providing comprehensive quality care to the colorectal Patients in this modern district general hospital. You will support patients through triage, diagnostics, diagnosis and into follow-up. Hours per week: 37.5

Main duties of the job
Our team of colorectal specialty nurses provides a high quality service in a safe environment where the needs to each patient are cared for in a professional and holistic manner by using all available specialist knowledge and skills. The wellbeing of all our patients relies on appropriate and timely assessment, investigation, treatment and care. In joining our team, you will bring your skills and passion to provide the highest quality patient-focused care and compassion for our patients. You must be a team player with excellent communications skills and have the ability to work using your own initiative as well as part of the wider team. The successful applicant will possess excellent communication skills, team working skills and knowledge of surgical procedures to join our surgical service. Qualifications
* Registered General Nurse
* Sign off Mentorship
* MSc (Master of Science) Advanced Practice
* Advanced Communication/ counselling skills training
* Teaching qualification/module
* Masters level study or module in health examination in clinical system/s relevant to clinical area
Knowledge
* Advanced knowledge of the pathology of disease and illness processes
* Advanced knowledge of the effects of the ageing process and needs of vulnerable adults in relation to their health and well-being
* Understanding of Clinical Governance
* Evidence of extensive expert professional/clinical knowledge managing acutely unwell patients in the community, primary or acute setting.
* Knowledge and experience of colorectal nursing and lower GI
* Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
* Able to sustain and develop relationships across professional boundaries.
* Leadership skills and excellent decision making capabilities
* Ability to work independently
* Able to effectively manage resources e.g. prescribing
