A global company who support the Defence sector are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer with Surface Finish Treatment experience to fulfill a 12 month FTC. The role of the Manufacturing Engineer is focused on being part of a team that gives their customers a strategic edge on the battlefield by designing, building and maintaining some of their most vital equipment - everything from battle tanks to engineer vehicles, artillery through to advanced missile systems. The Manufacturing Engineer must have passion, drive and determination to give the best they can every day. The main role of the Manufacturing Engineer will be to implement and assure all manufacturing operations are completed to their entirety within the Treatments area of Manufacturing Operations. Key areas of responsibility for the role of the Manufacturing EngineeringPlanning, design, and implementing integrated manufacturing processes in the manufacturing facilityRefining the manufacturing processes to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specification and business priorities Working with the Engineering function to identify problems with product and performance, recommend solutions and process improvements Planning and designing methods to improve efficiency in production, train line employees on existing and new processes and methods Improving equipment availability and capability by utilising continuous improvement tools and cross functional working Developing and maintaining manufacturing Standard Operating Procedures and Safe Systems of Work, including PFMEA, and Risk Assessments Supporting capital acquisition, capacity planning and engineering proposals, estimated costs, to achieve operational improvements and financial benefits, implement engineering change controlPutting together a business case to justify capital expenditure of new machinery HNC or equivalent in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering Solid understanding of the fundamentals of manufacturing processes and proven experience of delivering process improvements Good knowledge of standard operating systems and risk assessments IOSH or NEBOSH certification would be beneficialPlease contact me directly to discuss the post of Manufacturing Engineering - shortlisted candidates will be contacted prior to submission with further details, however should you wish to discuss your application
