What you’ll be doing
As a qualified Dispensing Optician, you will be providing a high level of customer care and expert advice to make a real difference to our customers and keep them coming back. You will work in one of our stores, reporting to the Store Manager.
Key responsibilities
* Providing clinical support in store for regulated dispensing
* Inspiring your Optical team by sharing your knowledge to offer the very best service
* Listening to the needs of customers and offering expertise and advice
* Helping our customers to choose the correct eyewear and guide them to the best product suited to their needs
* Supporting the team to deliver an efficient model day and operational processes to ensure that the business trades legally
* Providing expert knowledge for patients with more specialist requirements
What you’ll need to have (our must-haves)
* Registered with the General Optical Council (GOC)
* Passion for learning and development, completing all CPD training as part of the GOC requirement

Need To Know
We’re looking for a passionate and qualified Dispensing Optician to join our friendly and high‑performing team at Boots Opticians, Milton Keynes.
This is a full‑time position, with flexibility to work either 5 standard days or 4 longer days, including 1–2 late shifts per week (until 7 pm) and alternate weekend working.
Our busy, 6‑room testing practice was fully refitted in March 2023, creating a modern and energetic working environment. You’ll be joining a talented, experienced team including: 5 Resident Optometrists, 1 Contact Lens Optician, 1 Dispensing Optician, 1 Pre‑Registration Optometrist.
Based in the vibrant Crown Walk Shopping Centre, the practice enjoys high footfall and excellent transport links, with the M1 nearby and direct train routes to London and Birmingham.
