Job overview
We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated registered nurses to join our dynamic team dedicated to high standards of patient care. If you seek experience in an intensive care setting, consider joining our nursing team.
Our Cardiac Intensive Care Unit specializes in nurse-led fast-track recovery for elective and emergency cardiac surgery patients, including CABG, valve replacement, and dissection repair. The unit is busy, dynamic, and suited for nurses who thrive in fast-paced environments. It also supports patients requiring level 3 ongoing critical care post-operatively.
The main responsibilities of the Cardiac Intensive Care Nurse include planning, providing, and evaluating evidence-based care for critically ill patients under supervision.
We welcome applications from those with UK NMC registration. Currently, we are not hiring internationally qualified nurses requiring sponsorship.
Main duties
The post involves caring for patients immediately post cardiac surgery in an eight-bed unit, ranging from critically ill with mechanical ventilation to those ready for discharge. The nurse is responsible and accountable for the total nursing care of one to two patients and works as part of a team, supporting the shift leader and supervising junior staff.
We offer orientation, a supportive team environment, and professional development opportunities, including support for ITU course completion.
