Europes leading design, engineering, environment and regulatory consultancy organisation employing c22,000 staff require an experienced Public Health Project Engineer to join their multidisciplinary Building Services design team.
You will be required to support the delivery of a wide variety of projects for several key clients covering a range of activities from project feasibility through to detailed design and construction support.
Responsibilities:
1. Take responsibility for development of practical public health design solutions across a wide variety of challenging and prestigious projects;
2. Close liaison with project teams to produce coherent and coordinated information;
3. Representing the organisation with clients, design teams, and contractors;
4. Investigating new and emerging technologies and applying practically;
5. Provide technical guidance, support and training to colleagues and assist in mentoring and development of others;
6. Taking responsibility for production of high-quality Revit and AutoCAD work;
7. Quality Control for CAD/BIM production and adherence to company CAD/BIM standards;
8. To be able to work in close collaboration and co-ordinate activities with project managers, team leaders, team members, and other disciplines and have an appreciation of their role;
9. To work in both supervised and unsupervised environments ensuring that the technical content of all work carried out is correct and carried out in accordance within agreed timescales and within agreed budgets;
10. Complying with project and Client protocols;
11. To adhere to the company Health and Safety Policy.
Professional Membership and Qualifications:
12. Degree or equivalent in relevant engineering discipline;
13. Progressing towards or membership of an appropriate professional body (desirable).
Qualities:
14. Experience of Public Health design to British Standards and within a UK consultancy or contractor environment;
15. Ability to develop technical design schematics and layout drawings, supported by engineering calculations;
16. Experience of confidently managing production of design information in both 2D and 3D environments;
17. Ideally an excellent working knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD;
18. Able to communicate in a fluent and positive manner with other team members and to produce reports in plain English;
19. Ability to work on own initiative and seek assistance when required;
20. Ability to organise and prioritise workload to ensure that timescales are met;
21. Good problem solving/contingency planning skills with ability to find quick, innovative and practical solutions;
22. Take responsibility for your personal development and enable and support the learning of others;
23. Effective negotiation and persuasion skills, ability to manage and diffuse challenging situations;
24. Project a professional image to clients and colleagues;
