About the Opportunity
As a result of an increasing portfolio of projects, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a PLC/SCADA Software Testing Engineer to join the team based out of our Westlakes Testing Facility.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Plan and prioritise own work to ensure that functional project requirements are on scope, time and cost are met
2. Carry out testing of thePLC/SCADA code produced by others
3. Carry out commissioning activities at client site as required, to ensure successful engineering handover
4. Ensure that work complies with all necessary corporate, departmental and legislative requirements and procedures, to guarantee that the necessary consistency and quality of delivery is maintained
5. Recognise and address potential and actual cross-discipline issues and conflicts so that overall engineering input to a project is coherent
6. Develop own engineering experience and skills, moving towards the capability to move to a more senior role and towards professional qualification
Here's What You'll Need:
7. Degree qualified in appropriate discipline
8. PLC/SCADA knowledge
9. Substantial relevant experience, typically at least 4 years of experience in relevant project design work, is required to fully perform the role
10. Mobility and flexibility to work anywhere in home country
11. Previous experience of working with existing Sellafield plants / brown field sites is important, but not essential.The candidate should, however, have previous experience in a similar role.
12. Can produce, check, and provide technical oversight of CE&I key deliverables documents / reports, calculations, schedules, drawings etc. to programme and appropriate quality
13. Able to deliver to relevant standards, codes and regulations
14. Able to work collaboratively with other disciplines, stakeholders, and the wider project team
15. Capable of producing and being accountable for their own effective time management, planning activities, task estimates and progress reporting
16. Understands self-limitations and the value / importance of escalation as and when necessary, during the design process
17. Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills
18. Has strong interpersonal skills and is able to interact with people at all levels
19. Familiarity and experience of working and complying with applicable SL practices, standards, and engineering guides
